It's great soap. So far it's passing my scaly elbow test. If a soap does not condition and moisturize, my elbows get scaly and arms get flaky - so far so good. The proof of the pudding... I like the White River FO best. The Citrus fresh is also a nice scent. Although I can't help comparing it to Bramble Berry's Energy. Several years ago when my ex and I were selling soap Energy was the best seller and my personal "citrus" favorite. It's a good unisex scent. We named the soap "Good Morning World". It is an extremely refreshing scent. I have not tried the Emu & Ostrich yet but am looking forward to it. I want to continue with the other two for another week before moving on to it. I know I could just enjoy, which I do, but I have a very analytical nature. (Hence my programmer/analyst profession and the SoapCalc site.)
Hi llene, I am very pleased. My husband loves the Oh baby soap more than the plain one. Is the only difference the baby powder smell ... gave a bar to my sister in law of both the emu and the Oh Baby because she just had a baby and her skin (sister in laws), is not doing well. I just sent your website to four of my friends that I saw yesterday at a superbowl party and was bragging about your soap products. So I hope that answers your question I love your products. I will be ordering more soon, I would like to try some of the others they sound wonderful. Take care.
About a week ago, I ran my thigh into the corner of a table. I forgot all about using the Arnica salve and got a huge black and purple bruise, that is almost gone but still visible a week later. It also hurt. Sunday, I ran my upper arm into the corner of the attic staircase. (Ok..obviously I don't watch where I am going, and yes I am uncoordinated). So this time I remembered to use the Arnica. I put it on right away, and while it was a little bit tender in the area, it never hurt anywhere near like the other one did, and I only got an almost invisible shadow of a bruise at all. I only used it twice, and two days later it's pretty much gone, the only thing that I have is the mild scrape that I got when it happened.
I want to tell you that I have been using the ostrich and emu oil salve on my face for rosacea. It hasn't gotten rid of it, but it's much better. I plan on telling my doctor about it this week!
I've been using the Clear Skin soap faithfully. I think I'm going to like it, now that my face is finally clearing up from the huge break-out it gave me. (you told me that would probably happen, and, boy! did it ever!!!). I don't want to stop using it. You are welcome to share my comments on your website, maybe it will help someone else have clear skin!
I was a soapmaker for many years but never have been able to recommend anyone else's soap to my former customers until I tried yours. I LOVE it! I've told anyone who seems interested. Whatever is in the shower right now is scenting the whole house. Thanks for the great soap and wonderful service :)
Hi Ilene, I would like to tell you about my experience with your Emu & Ostrich Soap. A day after I received your soap, I got a severe chemical burn by perm solution on my neck, which was the first time I got such burn all my life. I gave a try using your Emu & Ostrich Oil soap for cleaning. As you can imagine, your soap does not irritate my burned skin at all but sooths so well and stops pain while it's on my skin!! Amazing !! Thank you for your soap, I can keep burned skin clean and it is healing very well. In addition, your soap truly moisturizes skin, leave entire skin velvetly smooth. I feel that I could skip moisturizer (in my case, emu oil etc.). Starting with cold processed vegetable oil soap 3 years ago, true castile soap, and other emu oil soap I finally find the best soap I was looking for. Even I planned to make my own soap with lots of emu oil if I couldn't find it. I know few soap makers use emu oil for their products; it was not easy to find the true handmade soap which contains emu oil. Because I occasionally have allergic reaction to certain essential oil even to lavender, I stayed with unscented soap, which was quite boring to me. But I am enjoying subtle very nice milk-like smell from Your Emu & Ostrich Soap and creamier lather as well. I am so pleased! By the way, I appreciate your generosity of postage refund. I was very impressed with it. I will write about your balm next time and order a couple more of "The Best Soap" shortly. Thank you so much for making such wonderful soap for us !

About adding Buttermilk: It did feel very silky and smooth, that's why I liked it. That and the scent, and it's a nice big bar, and beveling the edges makes it more comfortable to handle. Nice soap, very nice!
I am finally getting back to you on the foot spray. All I can say is that I LOVE IT. I like the feel of it on my feet, I like the way it smells and I really like the healing properties. My left foot is the one that I had the flaking on and it has almost cleared up.
I love your soaps and your lotion bars. Your soaps I use even on my face. It leaves no residue and your skin feeling so soft. The biggest reason I like it all is because the scent is not overwhelming, it's just right.
I use only Michigan Country Soap, and it's all my family uses. I have sensitive skin, and my children do as well. I've tried other 'natural' soap products, and I've never been as happy with any of them as I am with Ilene's soaps. For myself, the Emu soap is the best for my dry skin and psoriasis, my family loves the scented soaps, and it's always fun to try the new scents when they come along. I also use the Emu and Ostrich salve on a daily basis, it's wonderful stuff!
Both Linda and I love your soaps, we have tried many others from all over and have not found any that we like as well. I think your soaps are wonderful, great quality at an exceptionally good value. I have paid much more and have not received the same quality. I really do mean this -- you do have an outstanding product. I have paid 10.00 and 12.00 dollars for bars of soap that were not as good.

Whenever my customers ask me what applications our emu oil are ideal for, I ALWAYS recommend that they use the emu oil in a leave-on product such as lotion, cream, lip balm etc but not in soaps because after all you are washing the soap off after just a few minutes of lathering to take full advantage of emu oil's benefits. To give these soaps a fair review, I used them exclusively for a week each and the difference is amazing. My soap is already moisturizing, but after trying these soaps I have to say... I just might have to re-formulate my recipe and add 15% of emu oil to the luxury line! I have found your soaps to be just delightful. They give such a creamy lather that is both refreshing and exilerating. The fresh aroma makes one feel wonderful all over. All of this is really due to the care that goes into the preparation. As a result, one has a soap that is in many ways superior to the "machine" manufactures that come from the so-called name brands. Using your soaps makes my skin feel silky and smooth and I truely feel cleansed. I am delighted to join others who have complimented you about your soaps. There is a part of you in every bar of soap and that makes the difference.
