My daughter has a mild case of Psoriasis which prompted me to research what oils I could add to soap that might sooth the red itchy patches she gets.

Research showed Emu and Ostrich Oils have been used for centuries to alleviate many conditions people suffer from, Psoriasis and Eczema being only two of them. Below is a partial list of other conditions these oils are used for and I gained this information from the Emu & Ostrich Producers of Canada.

EMU OIL:

Is said to be natures 'perfect emollient'. It is a superb transdermal carrier that promotes healing.

Has been shown to thicken skin making it a natural anti-aging agent.

Is employed to promote faster healing on burn patients.

Significantly reduces recent keloid scaring.

Contains a natural anti-inflammatory and because it is transdermal can reduce swelling and stiffness in joints and reduce muscle pain and bruising.

Contains both Omega 6 and Omega 3 essential Fatty Acids, (EFA's).

OSTRICH OIL:

Used over 3000 years ago by the Egyptian, Roman and African cultures for topical relief of dry skin, dry hair, burns, lesions, contact dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, sunburn, muscular pain, fine lines and wrinkles, minor cuts and abrasions.

Contains Omega 6 and Omega 9 Essential Fatty Acids, (EFA's), and certain vitamins and amino acids to help maintain the health of your skin membranes.

Both Ostrich and Emu Oils appear to have excellent but somewhat different qualities so it seemed only logical to use both of these oils in my soap to get the best results.

Both oil non-comedogenic, which means they will not clog pores, making it an excellent facial soap.
